A letter from the (new) owners

The Landmark Rides Again!

Interior of Switchback Saloon

Landmark isn’t going away. It’s becoming Switchback Saloon, and we’re doing everything we can to keep this place around.

We were regulars here long before we ever thought of becoming owners, and until early February we hadn't thought about becoming owners at all. We loved this bar. A lot of us did. So when it looked like it might really be over, we started working with Nick to see if there was any way at all to keep the place from slipping away.

There’s going to be a new name, some repairs, and a lot of work to do behind the scenes. But hopefully the end result of all of this is that we can keep what we all loved about Landmark alive: the music, the staff, the food, the patio, the photobooth... but most of all that feeling that you have a home away from home.

Truthfully, this only works if the community keeps showing up for it. We can take over the lease, fix the floors, refurbish the bathrooms, and keep the lights on, but a place like this survives because people decide it matters. And that's the only way we're going to make sure that our bar never gets this close to shutting down again.

We’re here because we love this place, and we’re going to keep it going with the help of the people who love it too.
